2005 Updates

12.20.5 - Added six songs to the Puxada de Rede song list (You can also find each song by the first letter of the title as well).

12.19.5 - Information on some upcoming events have been added. Come join us the weekend of January 6th to the 8th for various workshops and a fundraiser! See our events page for more details.

12.18.5 - Added new events to the main (home) page. More details for these events will be added to the events page as they become available. Also, we added a page to the about us section that gives you a few meaning of the word Mandinga. More updates to come before the x-mas holiday...até logo.

12.12.5 - New songs have been added.

12.10.5 - New additions to the members section.

11.28.5 - Forgot to update the updates page throughout the weekend...Here is what's new: First, the members section is up and running. There will be continous addtions as time goes on. Membership and Section access is available via our Merchandise page. Second, is the new merchandise page; we now accept Visa and Mastercard. The shopping cart is now active and we are just finishing up and adding the merchandise pictures. We will shortly be adding larger (detail) pictures, in case you would like that closer look. We have also added a new section within the music pages, Puxada de Rede. Also, look for additional songs throughout and we are slowly starting to include translations as they become available. 11.24.5 - Happy Thanksgiving!!! Major updates are due to be completed after this coming holiday weekend.

11.16.5 - The final tests are being completed on the members section. Look for that to be active shortly. Also, added 1 song to the list...can you figure out which one??? The merchandise page is being reconstructed to accept credit cards (Mastercard and Visa). More updates to come within the upcoming Thanksgiving week.

10.30.5 - Added information regarding the Capoeira Mandinga Detroit Batizado.

10.26.5 - Added Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra's "Bagel Brunch" Demonstration to events and home page.

10.19.5 - Updates have slowed down as we catch up on some other exciting business within the group. Please note the class cancelation this coming weekend. Also, some more demonstrations are on their way...stay tuned.

9.26.5 - We've been updating and nearly forgot to update the updates. New Classes have been added!!! There is now a kid's class that will take place on Mondays and Thursdays, starting September 29th. Please see the Classes page for more information. Two new demonstrations are coming up this coming Sunday (see events page). The members section is scheduled to launch at the beginning of November.

9.12.5 - Added a few more songs, added a note to the home page for class time changes for the next two weekends and placed the location of ARTwalk demonstration (see events page). We have also been working on a members section that will hopefully kicking off soon.

9.7.5 - More music and some routine maintenence updates.

9.2.5 - More music has been added to the growing Music pages.

9.1.5 - We've just passed 100 on our Song List. Thanks to those who have submitted lyrics over the past few months. If you would like to submit lyrics that you don't see on our site, please look at any of the lyric pages for the submission form. More updates to come...soon!

8.31.5 - The website has changed quite a bit in the last few days. Visually it looks quite the same, but the backend of the site has been completely redone. Many thanks go to Draga and Algonquin Studios for all the work to make our site so much better. Check out the new features, such as the internal site search. There will be many more updates coming soon...so keep coming back for more. For starters we finally added more photos to the Media page (including Mandinga Rochester 2005 Batizado and Miscellaneous photos). Até mais......

8.22.5 - We have added a music class to our class list. Also the events page has been updated. We will be soon changing servers; so the updates have been a bit slower as we prepare for the switch. Look for many more additions to the site (especially to the photos, video and songs) as soon as the switch is made.

8.11.5 - Added some more songs. Corrected Carcará song (missing one line). General announcements have been updated as well.

7.6.5 - More songs added - up to 86!

6.30.5 - It is technically 7.1.5...but there are some new additions to the song list (10 new songs), new events and classes have been added as well. Quicker updates will be be coming now that Instrutor Carcarã has moved to the Rochester area. Keep checking back soon for more songs, pictures, events, etc...OBRIGADO!!!

6.8.5 - After a great Batizado and Troca de Cordoes there are some new updates. Some upcoming events have been added to the events page. One new song, Carcará Carcará Ê Ê, has been added. This song was passed to the group by Mestre Batata during our event. Also, some additional pictures have been added to the media page. Coming soon - More lyrics, pictures and so much more...

5.26.5 - Thanks to Pezão for the song submission of Capoeira Ligeira. Also a few links were corrected. 8 days till our first batizado!

5.15.5 - There have been a few updates that haven't been listed in the last month. Please check out our events page about all the updates to our upcoming Batizado, on June 4th.

4.18.5 - Confirmation on Contra Mestre Coruja and Contra Mestre Muriel of Cordão de Ouro will be coming to our 1st batizado, June 4th, 2005.

4.12.5 - We have missed logging some of our past updates, but they include new information on the upcoming Batizado here in Rochester, NY. We are happy to hear the confirmation of Contra Mestre Denis, of Cordão de Ouro, and Professor Nego, of Quilombo do Queimado. Also, we will be hosting Mestre Brasília at the end of this month, April 28th through May 1st. Be sure to check out the events page for updates. Finally, to ease the coming to events we have integrated ONLINE REGISTRATION. Hope to see everyone at the upcoming events.

3.30.5 - Added information about our upcoming Batizado. Also, you may register online for the event.

3.28.5 - Updated the Song Lists; creating Song List H and Song List I and adding 10 new songs. We have also integrated a form to submit your own songs. Final Information on our upcoming batizado (6.4.5) will be uploaded on 3.30.5 and/or 3.31.5.

3.7.5 - A lot of minor updates have been completed, including updating the events page. Song List Q has been created with the addition of two new songs.

2.17.5 - Two more songs added to Song List A and, finally, some pictures have been added to the media section. The pictures are from the Mandinga Detroit Batizado. More to come...

2.16.5 - More Lyrics have been added to the music page. There are four new song lists (Song Lists B, E, N and a Maculêlê Song List). Three songs added to Song List B, two songs added to Song List E, one song to each of Song Lists N, S and V, and five songs added to the Maculêlê Song List.

2.14.5 - Updated information, again, on the Events page. Added location and times for Hamilton Workshops and added pricing for Mestre Ombrinho's Workshops in Buffalo, NY.

2.10.5 - Updated the Events page. There are plenty of events coming up within the next few months. Keep checking the site to keep up to date on these events.

1.20.5 - Just a quick update...We have added some upcoming events to the events page. We are also starting a beginner's class on Saturdays, beginning in february. See the classes page for more information. More songs and the addition of pictures are on there way on the next update.

1.6.5 - Added the CD Crianças da Mandinga to the merchandise page. Also, confirmed the times for the workshop with Falcão from Quilombo Do Queimado. in Toronto, Canada. See the events page for more information.
